Family Art Night

Family Art Night is a workshop created for families of all sizes and ages to learn about art techniques and well-known artists while creating their own works of art. With a casual atmosphere and lots of hands-on projects, Family Art Night is a great place to experience art and spend time with your family.

1 | Contour Line Wire Sculpture
Learn how to bend and twist wire to create playful wire sculptures in the style of Alexander Calder.

2 | Shadow Puppets
Shadow play is an ancient form of storytelling and entertainment. Come learn about its history and create one of your own. Then bring your puppet to life in a shadow puppet theater.

3 | Altered Books
Turn an old book into a work of art using mixed media techniques. Think “collage within a book.”

4 | Andy Goldsworthy - Earthworks
Learn about Earthworks, a form of art created in nature while working outside to create art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. This class will meet at Trinity Park instead of UBC. Meet us at the Trinity Park train station.
